			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>Below is an article written by my friend Daniel Walton on the subject of Evolutionary theory and Intelligent Design. In light of the one sided origins science presented in high school biology at present, Daniel is pointing out just a few of the thousands of holes in Darwinian Evolution that keep it from elevating from a scientific theory to the status of a scientific fact. Daniel has also agreed to write more articles for TFL in the future.</em></p>
<p>In our public school  systems, high school student are continuously bombarded with the theory  of Evolution. The biggest problem with that is it is not presented as a  theory but as fact. Now if it is really a fact then there is no problem  with it, but the reason it is called a theory is because there is not  sufficient evidence in order for it to be considered a scientific fact.  In reality, there is a lot of evidence suggesting it&#8217;s falsity. William  Demski is one of the scientists leading the charge for Intelligent  Design and Creationism in the intellectual realm. I would like to look  at some of his works and how they disprove the idea that evolutionary theory is  not a theory but a scientific fact.</p>
<p>First, a few definitions might be helpful. Evolution is the theory  that all things came about through natural selection, survival of the fittest,  and mutations. It states that all matter came about by chance and/or  necessity.</p>
<p>Intelligent Design suggests that a designer made the universe. it  does not suggest who created it or how. Creationism is a scientific  theory based on the Bible. It states that God created the heavens and  the earth and that the Fall  of Man, as well as the Great Fall, were both factors that have  caused it to be in the decaying state that it is in now. Creationism  goes one step further than the theory of Intelligent Design in that it  attempts to explain both the whom and how of creation.</p>
<p>Demski states that there are only three ways for  something to happen: necessity, chance, and design. If there is any  design (not put into effect by humans or animals ect.) then there must  be a designer and therefore Intelligent Design is correct and Evolution  is wrong. So he set out on a way to prove that things on the earth had  been designed by an intelligent  designer. He uses something called the Explanatory Filter.</p>
<p>The filter works like this: We run something through it  like a dog, and then we ask if it can be made by necessity. If there is  any other way for it to have been made then it was not made by  necessity. If it has specification and complexity, then it is not made  by chance. If it is not made by the other two it must be made by design.</p>
<p>But before we use this there is something else we need  to keep in mind: Even if the filter says something is made by necessity  or chance than it might be made by design. i.e. A person can tip over a  water glass just as easily as it happening by chance (in fact it might  be more likely).</p>
<p>If if I run my dog, P.J, through the filter,  I first  ask: &#8220;Did he have to be made exactly as he was in order to function the  way in which he does&#8221;. the answer to this question is no. Second I  must  ask myself: &#8220;Does he have specification and complexity&#8221;. Evolutionist think that  dogs are highly complex (evolved) animals, so they can testify to it&#8217;s  complexity. Also, I can tell him apart from other dogs, so he has  specification from other species as well. So this means he was designed,  if he was designed (and he obviously wasn&#8217;t designed by humans) there  must be a Designer. This means that Intelligent Design is correct.</p>
<p>Scientists have no way of knowing that evolution is true  but instead they try to brainwash our generation into believing so  without so much as exploring opposing theories.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tonight Martin Luther King&#8217;s niece visited on <em>Glenn Beck</em> to talk about the similarities between the tea party in the 1960&#8242;s during Martin Luther King&#8217;s stand for the abolition of segregation of black people in America. Her and two other guests discussed King&#8217;s Bible based teachings about peaceful protestation. I thought that it was very refreshing and inspiring to spend time reflecting on the methods that Christians are called to employ while protesting big government. Doctor King spoke tonight about the<em><a href="http://manhattandeclaration.org/read.aspx"> Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience</a> </em>. The Manhattan Declaration is a call for Christians to react to government oppression with non-violent, peaceful protest. The Christ inspired message that this Declaration(and really the movement that we are seeing now in the modern Tea Parties), can be summed up in the ending sentence of the Declaration:</p>
<blockquote><p>We will fully and ungrudgingly render to Caesar what is Caesar&#8217;s. But  under no circumstances will we render to Caesar what is God&#8217;s.</p></blockquote>
<p>This message is the core of the Tea Party Movement, and we must all grasp it  in order to preserve freedom. Truth always wins in the end, and when we fight for God&#8217;s side, peacefully, non-violently and yet boldly, we will be fighting for the truth. I think it would be worth your time to read <a href="http://manhattandeclaration.org/read.aspx">this inspirational Declaration</a>, and to sign it in order to show where you stand.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I understand that there has been some questioning lately over whether or not Congressman Paul Ryan is a progressive. The Representative from Wisconsin drew fire from certain conservative blogs after he gave a speech at a political dinner in Oklahoma on the subject of progressives. During this speech he talked about the roots of the progressive movement, explaining how the first progressives emphasized populist ideas, and later abandoned this and went on to advocate a more centralized government.</p>
<p>Many mistakenly read this speech as a call to return to the early Progressivism of Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. But the truth is that Congressman Ryan was making the argument that conservatives need to understand the progression of the progressives (pun intended), so that we may be better armed to defeat it.</p>
<p>This story gained national attention when Glenn Beck made the same mistake on his radio program this past week. Glenn later admitted that they had not been thorough in their research. The congressman was invited to be on the program, where he set the record strait. I took a look at his website: <a href="http://AmericanRoadmap.org">AmericanRoadmap.org</a>, and I think that what I found is worth repeating so that there is no doubt in anyone&#8217;s mind as to this man&#8217;s credibility.</p>
<p>At AmericanRoadmap.org Rep. Ryan lays out the many problems facing America in extensive detail, and then gives his propositions on how to solve them. He obviously understands the progressive movement better than almost any other politician in Washington, and his website is chock full of good information that every American should know.</p>
<p>A politician who understands and opposes Progressivism at the same time is very rare, so I want to ensure that he gets the recognition that he deserves. -Calvin</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If the Financial Regulations Bill that passed the House last year passes into law, it will be yet another giant expansion to the powers given to the Federal Government. This bill will give the Federal Government power to take over any financial institution if they deem it &#8220;too big to fail&#8221; and on the brink of insolvency. This bill would also do away with the Judicial Review associated with the Federal takeover, so the decision as to whether or not the company is &#8220;too big to fail&#8221; is left entirely to the Feds. There is no legislation in the bill to ensure that the Federal Government gives objective evidence supporting the need for such a takeover either.</p>
<p>We cannot allow the Federal Government so much more power that is constitutionally reserved to the state and local governments. With this power the Federal Government could shut down any financial business for any reason. Obama or any other future President could use this power to takeover any financial business that are particularly vocal in their opposition to his policies, or fund political opponents. The checks and balances put on the separate branches of government were put there for a reason, and this bill would tip the scales, giving the Federal Government yet more power that they should not have. Remember, a government that is big enough to give you everything, can take it all away.</p>

<p>Many conservatives have watched this video and drawn fire upon the section where Michelle calls Kenya here husbands home country. We have all heard of the controversy over whether or not the President is actually an American citizen. Many conservatives have been trying to connect the two, saying that Michelle had a slip of the tongue, accidentally revealing the President&#8217;s Kenyan nationality.</p>
<p>However, after hearing a second hand opinion on the matter from the Glenn Beck Program this morning, I have a different opinion on this video and it&#8217;s meaning. First of all, I don&#8217;t think that the timing of this video is any coincidence. This video was filmed in 08, and we are just now hearing about it, only a week or so after health care &#8220;reform&#8221; passed into law, when Nancy Pelosi and gang tried to frame local tea party protesters for yelling the n-word and spitting upon them, although there isn&#8217;t a scrap of evidence available to back up the claim.</p>
<p>You see, progressives realize that we are now large enough to pose a serious threat to their political careers that they have now resorted to demonizing us, hoping that they can turn everyone else against us. This is what the spitting controversy was all about, and this is what the Kenyan controversy is all about. They want us to look like conspiracy theorists, so that we will no longer be credible. So I just want to warn you to be careful, and not to accept this bait.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today is the anniversary of Patrick Henry&#8217;s famous speech: &#8220;Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death&#8221;. I encourage you to read it and reflect on its meaning and application in our country&#8217;s current crisis:</p>
<h3>Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death</h3>
<p><em>Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775</em>.</p>
<p>No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as  abilities, of the     very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But  different men often see the     same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not  be thought     disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions  of a character very     opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and  without reserve. This is     no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful  moment to this     country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a  question of freedom or     slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to  be the freedom of the     debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth,  and fulfill the great     responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep  back my opinions at     such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider  myself as guilty of treason     towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty  of Heaven, which I     revere above all earthly kings.</p>
<p>Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions  of hope. We are apt to     shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of  that siren till she     transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a  great and arduous     struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those  who, having eyes, see     not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern  their temporal     salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am  willing to know the     whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.</p>
<p>I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the  lamp of experience. I     know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging  by the past, I wish     to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry  for the last ten years     to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to  solace themselves and the     House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been  lately received? Trust     it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not  yourselves to be betrayed with     a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition  comports with those     warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are  fleets and armies     necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown  ourselves so unwilling to be     reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us  not deceive     ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the  last arguments to     which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial  array, if its purpose be     not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other  possible motive for it? Has     Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for  all this accumulation     of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us:  they can be meant for     no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains  which the British     ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to  them? Shall we try     argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have  we anything new to     offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in  every light of which it is     capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty  and humble supplication?     What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let  us not, I beseech you,     sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be  done to avert the storm     which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we  have supplicated; we     have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its  interposition to arrest     the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions  have been slighted; our     remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our  supplications have been     disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot  of the throne! In     vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and  reconciliation. There     is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free&#8211; if we mean  to preserve inviolate     those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long  contending&#8211;if we mean not     basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long  engaged, and which we     have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of  our contest shall be     obtained&#8211;we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal  to arms and to the God     of hosts is all that is left us!</p>
<p>They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so  formidable an adversary.     But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next  year? Will it be when     we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed  in every house? Shall     we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire  the means of effectual     resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive  phantom of hope, until     our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak  if we make a proper     use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.  The millions of     people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as  that which we     possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send  against us. Besides, sir, we     shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides  over the destinies of     nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.  The battle, sir, is     not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the  brave. Besides, sir, we     have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too  late to retire from     the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our  chains are forged!     Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is  inevitable&#8211;and let it     come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.</p>
<p>It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry,  Peace, Peace&#8211; but     there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that  sweeps from the north     will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren  are already in the     field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What  would they have? Is     life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of  chains and slavery?     Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but  as for me, give me     liberty or give me death!</p>

		<title>The Bill Passed&#8230;.Now What?</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sunday night we saw the final version of the Democrat&#8217;s version of Health Care Reform pass the House, and now the President will sign it into law sometime this week. We fought hard, but we lost the battle. We learned a few things as well. First we learned that there is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat. Democrats like Bart Stupak and his so called pro-life constituents in Congress voted for this bill (which will provide taxpayer funded abortions), after promising that they wouldn&#8217;t vote for anything that supported taxpayer funded abortion. Their excuse is that the President will amend this bill with an executive order, something that he does not have the authority to do. By the way, executive orders are themselves a violation of the constitution, but that is a subject for another day. The point is that we have seen the corruption present in the Democratic majority (not that the Republican minority is much better, because it is not). It is becoming more and more apparent to more Americans that the leaders that they elected are frauds. They do not stand for the ideals that they say they stand for, and the mask is coming off. They are becoming more and more bold in their assault on our country. It is now time for us to take the next step in our defense of this nation. We <em>must</em> vote them out of office in November, and we <em>must</em> replace them with long overdue servants who will make the tough and politically incorrect decisions that will turn our country around. We must start keeping our politicians accountable by voting them out when they don&#8217;t do exactly what we want them to do. Furthermore, we must be <em>extremely careful</em> when replacing our nation&#8217;s leaders. Too often we have allowed ourselves to be tricked by candidates who promise us change, and we don&#8217;t take the time to make sure we know exactly what kind of change they advocate. This is exactly what happened for those who supported former Senator Obama when he was running for President. He promised them change, and boy did they get change.</p>
<p>Lastly, we must remember the words of Winston Churchill, who said: &#8220;Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it&#8221;. We must know our history, and we must learn from it. History has shown us time and time again that socialism does not work. Yet we elected President Obama, and now he has succeeded in passing into law a government takeover of our health care system and 1/6th of the economy. 1/6th! We must learn from history. If we do not, then we will surely fail.</p>
