..First the view that the government should censor thespeech of people who do business in the form of corporations is rooted in the idea that free speech is an instrumental good that serves democracy. That is the Progressivist interpretation thatsees democracy as the central value of the Constitution and sees individual liberty as a privilege that is created by the government in order to promote democracy. Modern day Progressives dont think democracy just means the right to vote or the will of the majority or what have you they think it means that the government serves the people in some broad sense and that corporations somehow stand in the way of this.

Hey Calvin I happily stumbled upon your page after reading your post on the five pillars of liberty. I thought you might be interested in my book, The Five Laws of Liberty: Defending a Biblical View of Freedom, which was published by AMG Publishers under their God & Country imprint.

Check out our website www.fivelawsofliberty.com to see endorsements by Tim LaHaye, Josh McDowell, and David Barton. You may also be interested to know that I had an exclusive meeting concerning my book with Newt Gingrich last month.

Would love to chat some more with you about freedom once you've had a chance to check out our site.

Merry Christmas,
Scott Hyland (author of The Five Laws of Liberty)

There are a network of us who are conservative patriots who love our country just the way it was. I am so grateful that some of the youth is doing the same fight for freedom.

Thank you. I have linked to your blog.

I agree completely Gabrielle. I must say that I tell ths to my friends all of the time when they try to let Republican's slide after criticizing the Dem majority for their lack of fiscal responsibility.President Bush is not in the slightest a good example of a conservative President. The Republicans have made mistakes as well, and should be called out (I do so regularly). I hope that this wave of Congressional "Freshmen" will change these things, and if not this one, than the next one. Thank you for pointing this out for my readers.

It is a proven fact that our planets natural resources are running out and they will eventually be gone completely. The stimulus bill was signed because of; yes global warming, which does exist and also because research is needed for alternatives to coal and natural gas and such, because they are running out and will be gone. I see no harm in researching alternatives and spending necessary money to ensure we have a lasting energy source in the future. One day you will thank all of us "progressive liberals" and our "propaganda" because of us you and your family will have clean air and new resources that will able you to have a successful and healthy life.

Dont you think its weird to be blaming the democrates for the huge National Debt. When George W. came into office there was a surplus, so what did he do, oh yeah thats right he gave everyone a tax rebate then he went to war, and the next year we were in debt...hmm crazy.
