Last night on the Glenn Beck Program, Glenn Beck talked about two different strategies that progressive politicians use when responding to their opponents. Rather than responding with logical arguments for their policies, they respond with personal attacks. Last night Glenn Beck talked about a three pronged approach to opposition used by progressives in Washington. Beck says they accuse their opponents of one or more of three things: Using wrong thinking, being a danger, and arguing for profit. Radicals have been using this strategy for a long time. In his book, Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinsky told radicals that they needed to make their attacks personal. It is a far too effective strategy, and it has fooled Americans for a long time. Glenn Beck gave some interesting examples on his show yesterday with clips of progressives using this approach to reply to political opponents:
Why do these radicals use this argument? Because they have absolutely no logical arguments to make. If you pay attention, these people never spend time giving us logical explanations for their actions, they simply attack their opponents reasoning for arguing against them, or they shift the blame,(for example, when question is raised as to whether or not the White House should be spending us into oblivion, instead of giving us an explanation, they answer by saying things like: “We can’t afford to adhere to the status quo “, or, ” We inherited this financial disaster”.
By now everyone has heard about the White House’s recent attack’s on Fox News. Everyone has pointing out that the attack on Fox News has done nothing but strengthen Fox News by giving them publicity and sending them more viewers. So why does the White House continue to slam Fox News? Some think that they just might be attempting to distract Americans with this political feud, and use the distraction to try and shove Health Care Reform(which by the way, will cost an estimated $900 billion) down our throats while our attention is focused on this political Red Herring. What do you think?
